Warming Ginger Tea

If there were one type of food to incorporate into your diet to boost your immune system, would you have it?

As we enter the time of year where the chance of getting sick is greater, there are plenty of steps to take to make sure you boost your immune system.

Of all the preventative measures we can take, my #1 go-to food to keep my immune system healthy is ginger. Ginger contains a powerful punch of nature's medicine. It contains natural anti-bacterial properties, stimulates blood circulation (which delivers oxygen to your tissue to remove toxins), soothes sore throats and much more.

Once the weather turns cold, I incorporate a simple ginger tea into my diet on a daily basis. This warming tea detoxifies my body and keeps my immune system strong through the winter.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups filtered water
  • 1" piece of unpeeled ginger, cut into a few pieces
  • Slice of lemon
  • 1/2 tsp honey (optional)

Bring 2 cups of water and ginger to boil. Lower heat and simmer ginger for about 15 minutes. Serve with slice of lemon and honey if desired.
